Having grown-up in Colorado, USA, hornist Lisa Rogers has held the position of Solo Horn with the Düsseldorfer Symphony since 2012. She has been a horn teacher at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein Düsseldorf since 2014, and from 2020-2022, was a faculty member at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf. Mrs. Rogers joined the ARUNDOSquintett in 2016.
Mrs. Rogers has a Bachelors of Music from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she was a student of Michael Thornton, and a Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Jerome Ashby. She started her first orchestra job at the age of 19 as Associate Principal Hornist with the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra. After having spent 2006-2010 playing Co-Principal Horn with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, she moved to Germany and accepted a one-year contract with the Heidelberg Theater and Orchestra, before starting her current tenure in Düsseldorf.
In addition to her duties in the orchestra and opera, Mrs. Rogers is a dedicated teacher, chamber musician, and has been invited to play with orchestras and ensembles around the world, including all over Germany, the United States, South America, and Asia.
